Dr. Patrick Sherman provides a unique blend of perspective on 21st Century leadership. He balances academic inquiry with practical organizational leadership experience. Dr. Sherman served as City Manager for 13 years and as an elected official for 6 years. He has also served in executive positions in both the private and non-profit sectors. Patrick received his Doctorate in Management and Organizational Leadership from the University of Phoenix, his Master of Public Administration and his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southern Methodist University. Patrick is a graduate of the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government's prestigious Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government. Dr. Sherman is on the faculty of the School of Business at University of Phoenix, teaching classes in Leadership, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources, and Change Management. Sherman is also the Chair of the School of Business at the Phoenix Campus, responsible for academic oversight of 100 full time and adjunct Faculty. He is the author (2002) of The Effect of Head and Heart on Municipal Employee Retention. In 2005 Dr. Sherman received the Outstanding Faculty Award. Patrick has been a keynote speaker or presenter for many organizations, including the International City/County Management Association, the National League of Cities, and state associations across the country. Sherman has provided organizational development consulting services and board facilitation to numerous organizations, including the City of San Antonio, Texas, West Palm Beach, Florida, Alachua County, Florida, the Woodlands, Texas, and Banner Healthcare.
